Bhajans
“Bhajans are not just songs, they are the soul music that flows naturally from the hearts of the lovers of god. They culminate in spiritual ecstasy in communion with the supreme.” -Sri M
The root word ‘Bhaj-‘ means to serve, to give completely.
That is exactly what one needs to do as Bhajan — Give, give all and drop all to unite with the supreme.
Its intimacy, centering, alignment, focus, absorption, dedication, devotion all merged into one. Its Yoga (Union).
Through the depths of devotion soaked in surrender, it emerges, activates the nectar of sweetness through emotions which become words, and this sweetness when served to the lord that resides within all, through a crafted musical offering that flows from one heart into another, connecting all in this devotion — becomes a Bhajan.
From Kritis of Sri Sadashiv Brahmendra to the Abhangas of Tukaram Maharaj to the divine utterings of Saint Kabir to the sweet calls of Mirabai and so on…
“Bhajans with the power of the Swaras unlock untapped energies within the human system. One can find significantly raised energies in oneself after an intense session of Bhajans” - Vijay Shivane
With the essence of Bhakti and the structural integrity of the Sangeet Shastra, Bhajans connect all with divine presence.
“भज गोविन्दम् भज गोविन्दम्, गोविन्दं भज मूढ़मते।”
“Bhaja Govindam, Bhaja Govindam, Govindam Bhaja Moodha Mate” - Sri Adi Shankaracharya
"Seek Govinda, Seek Govinda, Seek Govinda oh my deluded friend"
